Need a smaller Busse now...

Ken, if you ever decide you want to part with that ABA LE, I'll give you whatever you want. That includes my DSA FAL and my sister. If I don't have what you want, I'll go out and kill whatever it is you want and bring it to you.

The Active Duty it is

Thanks Gatman for so gently coercing me into buying a new knife. :D

Now Im gettin excited. Ive got the AD, and the NMFBM LE on the way. :D

Now how am I supposed to pass the time? I suppose I'll take the words of the man himself and go drink. I have a nice 16 year old Lagavulin staring me in the face.

The_Guide

Welcome, Guide...I hope it serves you in good health. A good piglet never lets another wait too long before becoming totally enslaved to the trough. :D:D:D

Just finished the Balvenie and a Cohiba before coming back home. Was puffin' and sippin' while we worked it out. :D:thumbup:

The AD is a great choice. I'm a big fan of them, myself. :)

Get a Meaner Street and convex it yourself or send it off to a mod expert to go the job for you. I can recommend at least a couple...

Nice choice.
Which one did you get,
there are quite a few different ones out there.
Did you get the thinner BAD (boney active duty)
or maybe a thicker MilliGanza (military overrun) version?

The best smaller sized Busse, in my humble opinion is the Tanker A:

A little over 4", it's like a mini Satin Jack. Doesn't get much better!:thumbup::thumbup:

I have to second Grimspoon on this. That really is a great knife.

Sadly, one of my little nieces liked mine 'too much.' It's now in California.:( And when she's just 2 years older, her Daddy will let her have it full time ... as her own.

The problem is there don't appear to be many Tanker A's out there.

Seems to me that even though they don't show up very often, they tend to be pretty reasonably priced. From what I've seen most sellers have to drop their price at least once in order to move their Tanker A...

Personally, I'd take the Tanker A over an Anorexic Badger any day!:thumbup::thumbup:

Hey, he was talking to me and I call first dids on his sister

Apparently you've never seen my sister. Like Larry the Cable Guy said, she's so ugly she'd make Ray Charles flinch. :D

Really nice collection though.

When did the Tanker A models come out?

I am in the same boat as Guide and looking for something similar to this:

PM on any info.

For me it's the ABA, but I love my Cultie and Warsen, too. I'll say it again...

Cultie=underrated and undermentioned

Ken...I was just offering AKNative an option, since ABALE's usually get buried with their owners. And it wasn't my ABA either. ;)

even though you've already chose, if you looking for an exact aurora package, then your looking for a modified sar5.

If you send one to the custom shop, I would suggest shortening the handles (remove the butt end), making new scales so they are farther forward, and slimming the blade down with whatever grind you want.

The knife will spend anywhere from 3 months to a year in the shop, if all goes well 4-5 months, and will cost between 75 and 200$, probably closer to 125. in the end, you'll have a one of a kind custom thats well worth the wait.

heres a link to the one I had done (though I modified the pommel and the handle material to be like this). it's in link form instead of img because it's kinda big.

the sar5 is a great customizable blade, and is reletively affordable at the moment for how big it is.

and personally, I'm a huge fan of the rat tail. I like the ratmandu, but I can't stand the choil. the rat tail is small, no frills, pocketable, small choil, stout enough to pry with but not so thick it's unusable. and reletively cheap.
