Hi guys. I've been wanting a spydie for quite a long time now but due to legal reasons I can't have one with a 3" inch blade. I was hoping you could recommend one with a blade just under 3". Thanks!

Look no further than the Delica. Blade length is 2 7/8". For $50, there is no better knife (at least not for me ;))

For a nice entry level blade, you could go with a Byrd Crow (linerlock & 2 + 13/16 inch blade) or a Byrd Robin (lockback & 2.5 inch blade) with G10 handles.

A pricier option would be the Delica 4 FRN (lockback & 2 + 7/8 inch blade).

I just ordered my first Delica with ZDP-189. I don't have any blade length restriction situations but the Delica seems like a perfect, lightweight EDC option.

The Delica, it's a smaller knife that feels like a larger knife in the hand ;)

+1 Delica 4, If you want a hawkbill Get a Tasman, it is light and the serated blade cuts like nobody's business. The yellow frn is more people friendly too.

UKPK was designed to be just under 3 inches also a top quality knife even if it doesnt lock.
Sharper out the box than a delica.

The Delica in ZDP-189 is my number one choice. I wouldn't turn up my nose at a Delica with VG-10.

Caly III measures around 2.75" of sharpened blade.

You'll find lots of great feedback on this knife, with G10/VG10 and CF/ZDP options for handle/blade-steel.

The low-profile wire clip is great reason to get this over the Delica (if that's important at all).

Spyderco has lots of options that meet the <3" specification.

What else is important to you?

I'd grab either:

Delica 4
Caly III
Mini Persian

I EDC all of those. Sometimes even all at the same time !!! :D

big + for the delica
best knife in 3 inch category i ever had, and my all time favorite
blade lenght just enough for most duties, small, light, slim, easy to carry at all times, great steel quality, doesn't raise everybody's eyes, a must have

I'd recommend a Delica. Great little knife. The G10 flat grind version would be nice, but if you're looking to spend around a bill, I'd go with a Caly III. Those are great little knives. You could also go with the UKPK if you think not having a lock would help with sheeple-friendliness.

Delica is the way to go.

I don't have any resitictions so I carry a s90v millie. :p
Kinda feel bad bought beating it up though, probly will get a waved endura soon.
