Need Advice on how to deal with a large collection I came in possession of.

First off - apologies if this violates the rules. I'm not asking for any individual prices nor am I trying to sell at the moment, which I think makes this okay, but happy to edit/change anything as needed.

So, my roommate and I both have collectively about 0 knowledge involving knives of any kind. Recently we were given a bit of a collection. The picture here is maybe about a third of all the knives that were in this damn box. They have prices attached to them but hell if I know whether those are what they are worth, what the guy paid for them, what he thought they were worth - I think you get the picture. They run the gambit from 5 bucks to well over a hundred too so I'm not seeing any patterns I can grab hold of.

I have literally zero idea how to begin researching, categorizing, and potentially selling all of these. I could use an "Idiot's Guide to What to do when you suddenly are given about 80 knives". My roommate has been trying to figure out which one each one is, but she's getting a bit overwhelmed here.

Some broad questions - is it worth going through the effort of selling these individually or should we just try to sell the collection? Is there a reliable way to check what each knife is/verify these prices? And how can I, man who knows nothing about knives, accurately make sure these aren't damaged or counterfeit?

Thank you for any help!

Many look like cheap Pakistani or chinese knives. Top right there might be a Schrade Sharpfinger. Second row down, second from the left is some sort of sodbuster, maybe made by Case.
Most knives have a stamp on the blade near the handle. Make a list.........
About the black object on the left.....is that a rifle magazine? If so, you might want to check on the legalities of selling it, and depending on what it is, even owning it.....

I don’t think you’ll get $200 for the Mcusta, bottom right, by the Harley- Davidson box….
Thumbstud, cocobolo grips, model Tactility, same $200 new all over the place.
Those traditionals can probably have some value, but in general, most of the knives don’t look very valuable to me…
‘I’m also not sure if you can check prices with your account but I could be mistaking.

Looks like the prior owner put estimated retail prices on them, but you can't sell these for new prices. First step is to separate by brand. Most are cheap and I'd sell in bulk to a pawn shop. Some could be more valuable but it depends on condition & do they have the box.

It's just a box - there's another knife in there.

If you pay for a Gold membership (which is the mininum requirement to receive an estimate of the value of any knife here) and post individual pics of the knives w/as much detail as possible to show the origin/condition of the knife, we would then be able to give you an estimate of the current value of most (if not all) of the knives.

Absent that, I have no comment.

On the USPS box, top row, fourth from the left (4th including the "magazine" box), appears to be an older model Buck 112 (pre-nail nick, pre-1980). That knife should be over 40 years old. Definitely research that one. If it's in good condition, that one is definitely NOT garbage.
