Need Advice on "Thinnist" Knife for Dad's EDC *Update*

After seeing me with a knife in my pocket for years, my dad has finally seen the utility and is now carrying one. The problem is that he is carrying one of those "Things Remembered" groomsmen gift knives because he likes how thin it is. I want to replace it (obviously), but the new one has to be really, really thin, with like a 2 1/2 inch blade. It will see very light use, I am sure.

I was thinking of a a Victorinox Alox Solo. Any better/other choices? Something even smaller and thinner would be better.

Thanks.

You could also look at the Victorinox models with smooth alox handles. Like the alox Secretary. Those are smaller and thinner than the Solo.

I don't know if they even still make them, but a Gerber Silver Knight would be ideal. I reall like mine.

In my opinion you can't beat A.G. Russell's 3.0 Titanium Lockback.

..you get VG-10 blade steel @ 59-61RcH, Titanium Scales, made in Japan quality, a leather pocket sheath AND A.G.'s unbeatable warranty. Your father will never know this is in his pocket because of its slim size and light weight.

You might take a look at a Boker WharCom or SubCom, which nearly disappear in the pocket.
or
Kershaw Leek, if he doesn't mind a bit longer blade and Assisted Opening.
or
SAK Classic SD silver alox or Executive

These are all great suggestions! Nice feedback, guys, tks. I am going to run out right now to a Victorinox factory store I have near me and check out a Solo. I need to pick up a Classic for my wife anyway since the TSA took hers just yesterday when she flew to California for a family funeral (her fault, forgot it was there).

However, after seeing those AG Russell options, I may have to give this more thought. I really like those and they may be perfect for him.

If he can use a more tactical-ish knife, the SOG Blink is light, thin, affordable and durable.

I wouls recommend a spyderco centofante 3, it looks classy plus has a very thin blade and is a wicked slicer.

Case's latest Canoe pattern knives are some of the thinnest blades I've seen and pockets very well.

I would go with an Alox Bantam instead of the Solo for a Vic. It's not any thicker and has the combo tool which would hopefully discourage the use of the blade as a screwdriver. For something shorter with smaller blades, maybe a Case Peanut.

im a big fan of the case slimline trapper. nice and slim, but longer than some other slippies, and just disappears in my pocket.
