Well summer is upon us and you know what that means, CAMPING!!!! and you know what happens then, new knives

Well I've had a fixed blade 6" buck for a long while and would like to give that to my little bro and get something new. I would like a fixed blade between 100-200 prob would like it to be somewhat thin, not a bowie pattern but i'm willing to look at anything, maybe something with a tactical bent. I own 3 benchmades so far and love them all and am looking at the nimvarus but wanted to look at some others too so hit me with whatever you can, and if u can someplace to buy them. Also another idea is a lesser known custom maker that makes nice fixed blade, feel free to plug your own work

thanks

If you had good luck with Buck you might want to check out their Intreped its a tanto point (kinda) fixed blade. Or you might want to check out the Camillus Terzuola CQB fixed blade (very nice

As far as very solid fixed blades check out some of the TOPS Knives. Little more money but very strong. Good luck

I agree with Centurian. Definately check out the Camillus CQB and TOPS. Another line to check out are Camilus' Becker knives.

Several of Bob Dozier's knives are under $200 and they are top rate customs.

An unsung, but reputedly good knife -- tho more survival oriented than tactical -- is the Schrade Extreme Survival. It has been discontinued. Knife Center has it on sale for $100.

For about the same money, you can get the Fallkniven A-1, or the S-1 for a bit less. Both are excellent knives.

The thinly ground and extreme keen edge of Bob Doziers Pro Guide model will fill the bill nicely. Can' t chop with it. But it will do most any other chores around the camp. Less than $200. Best using handmades there are. Besides, leave any chopping to an axe.

Before you buy anything, be sure and check out the BK&T Magnum Camp made by Camillus. This is a top knotch camp knife for around the $100 mark. If you want something a little more "roughneck" then look at the BK&T Brute...this one will slice AND chop.
There are a lot of other much more expensive knives out there but for a lot of "cut for the buck" it's hard to beat the BK&T line.
