Need an idea for an oil quench container

probably too late but over here in aussie the cheapo shops sell 5 gal stainless kitchen garbage bins with foot activated lid.. i've thought about one of these but dint know if 5 gals is enough (pommie gallons that is / 20 litre) you guys in the states would be able to get the same sort of thing. (you guys can get anything over there,:grumpy: :grumpy: lucky bastards!)
