ok so i got a cotton buffing disk today and figure i would try and put a new car shine on a knife i am making. well it not going to well i read the directions on the polish but somewere along the line i am screweing up. i have 2 kinds on is green and for a high polish and one is red think it 600 aluminum polish??. well i applied the polish to the wheel like it says and tyhen cleaned it off the whhel while it was running with a piece of clean steel, but i am still getting the color of the polish all over the handle of the knife i trying to polish . what gives? any and all help would be appreciated thanks.

well after doing so searching here i am just going to get a couole of different wheels and make them single purpose. what i have decided to do is take the handle down to 1500 and then use a new wheel with only a touch of wax on it.

The seperate use wheels is the best way. However if you stuck for cash you can get some 36 grit paper and put it on a flat backing board. The 36 grit will grind away the top few milimetres back to clean clothe.
