Hi everyone. Just ordered a Coote 2X72 with the 10" wheel and now need to get a one horse motor. I looked at harbor freight and they have one for 100 bucks but it's chinese. Anyone know of a source for quality motors?
Thanks, Keith

Not sure where you are but Tractor Supply has motors that are pretty cheap. 1 horse motor runs about 150 there.

Were you looking at the Marathon brand motors? I just got one of their 1.5HP farm motors for my grinder and it seems to be okay. Keep in mind, it's only got a couple hours on it, but that's only because I just got it set up a few days ago. At any rate, it starts smoothly, runs true, and was fairly easy to set up keeping in mind that I'm something of a hack. I also note the HF website (veracity probably questionable) says this motor is made in the US.

That is a 3600 RPM motor. May need to pulley that one down a bit or the coote will be a smokin.

Surpuls center is a good place for motors. I'd check out ebay as well, just to see if the single phases are reasonable.

Tractor supply has single phases and the pulleys right there so that might be a good "one stop shop".

I have 2 available they are AC/120 3250RPM @ 1 1/2HP sealed. If interested Email me for more info.;):D

I have a WEG 2 hp driving my Coote, make sure you get the 1750 rpm motor, other wise you will have to step it down alot with a pulley. Also get a sealed motor to help keep all the metal dust out...
