HI Guys!
I have 2 questions on 2 Spydie knives:
Found a Vagabond on ebay for 38USD (25€ here) shipped, held one from a friend and I liked it, would it be a good EDC in a backpack (city), what about the Japan aus6 it uses? is it worth?

Than i found a Bill Moran clip poin for 70usd (45-50€), I read it is not V ground, is it convexed? I would use it as a bushcraft knife or on my boat, probably it will become a working knife (to rotate the RC-3\4)

shall I buy both?

I'm open to fgeedback and suggestions

thanks
Max

Cannot comment on the Vagabond, but I own a Moran drop point and it is a very nice knife. It is comfortable, light, and very sharp. It does in fact have a normal v-grind. The earlier models came with a convex edge and leather sheath, but the current ones have a v-grind and a Kydex sheath. I'm not a fan of the Kydex sheath, but I don't like kydex sheaths in general.

It will do well enough as a bushcraft knife, but I will warn you that it is not a full tang knife, so if that bothers you, you may want to look into something else. Otherwise, it is an excellent cutter, durable enough, and the VG-10 steel is excellent.

I have a Vagabond, mine was given to me by a retailer who couldn't get rid of them. That doesn't mean it's a bad knife, just not too many people like the integral sheath idea.
I don't use it much because I don't trust that snap on blade cover to hold, can't put it in my pocket, and I'd hate to have it poke through my back pack. It is pretty good in the kitchen though.
AUS-6 is relatively low carbon. It won't hold an edge like VG-10 will, but should resist rust that much better.
$38 shipped doesn't sound too bad, but it could probably be lower.

As for the FB01...
I can't recommend the Bill Moran enough. It is extremely comfortable, light, and designed to be the perfect small fixed blade. Not necessarily something to hack down a tree with, but for cutting and slicing it would be hard to beat.

WOW thanks guys!
i think i'll take both

the vagabond will end in my backpack in case I need an EDC fixed blade, the integral "sheath" is a good option as i doesn't need a big sheath and so won't need much space for storing.
what would be a good price for it? never saw it much under 40usd, here they want 60 and more in a shop...

good to know the moran is V ground, I still prefer V over convex (until I probably buy a fallkniven or BRKT...)

Hi Mad Maxx;

You already made your decision and I think you made a good choice. Both are no nonsense knives. They aren't very "sexy" when compared to other knives out there but will certainly do what they are supposed to do.

I personally think the Vagabond was a great knife (they discontinued it due to poor sales compared to other models) but it is perfect for what you want it to do.

Should you fall in love with it; you might consider its direct descendent the Aqua Salt

The place I got mine from was asking $25, but that might have been a heavily reduced price. I guess it wouldn't be hard to get up to $38 with shipping anyway.
On second thought, you probably have found a really good deal (especially for Europe).

Shopping for knives in Canada is kind of the same deal, 99.9% of places that carry anything worth looking at charge near or above MSRP. Shipping from the states usually saves a lot of money.
