G'day, I don't understand why you have both a Magnesium And a ferrocium rod?
I understand redundancy But...
I use Tampons as a compact tidy source of cotton wool, Sealed in the pack they are sterile, can be used as a wound cover, as a wound wipe for cleaning, as a buffer for blisters, ear plugs, mixed with lipbalm waterproof ear plugs.
Lip balm is great for lips ( funny that) as a lubricant when you forget the gun oil. to seal out air on small scratches. to mix with charcoal to make black stripes under the eyes to absorb sun glare. I have had two, inch diameter dry patches of skin on my arm forever I use a tiny bit of lipbalm on them when it is hot and dry.
So carry both separate they take seconds to mix.
I also carry a normal pencil sharpener instant perfect tinder from any standing deadwood.
A ziptie under the shelf on a Bic stlye lighter will stop gas leaking before you need it.
You blokes call them rangerbands but strips of inner tube will light easily if cut to a narrow point ( long triangle) use a smidge of the PJCB wraped around the thin bit of inner tube under a pile of the pencil shavings. although pencil shavings will light from a LMF firesteel.
If your gunna pack a Doan block for a small kit cut it lenghwise ( admit it, there is more magnesium than most of us will ever use) Then paint it with nail polish to seal out the air ( stop corrosion particularly in a marine enviroment, and it just scrapes off)
