Al, thanks. I wasn't sure what Paul's title was, so I didn't want to render an insult with the wrong title. I figured that "deeply involved with the development and prototyping" covered the bases rather neatly. :) :D
 
If you get 5 hours of run time out of a Scorpian Im impressed, Mine goes for 50-60 min at best, it kicks butt for those 50 min butt it dont have the stamina for any longer length.
 
The E2e is a great everyday carry. You then buy an Inova X5 to use the batteries after the Surefire is through with them (mine is on the bedside table). The Inova can get a whole lot of light out of those used batteries. The Arc AAA (see candlepower forums) is a tiny LED task light. These three make a great combination. Of course I have other flashlights... You can usually pick up a used Inova X5 for around $30. The Arc AAA is only around $20 from online dealers.

I think the topic was lamp life, not battery life.
