Need gaurd fitting tutorial

Can someone steer me in the right direction,I no Mr Count is always on top of stuff like this. I am attempting my first bowie and the gaurd is giving me fits.Just because i dont no the proper procedure.

I would search for a thread called Wheelers Steel, Stuck in the metal with you. Unreal information from start to finish on an amazing hidden tang knife. His fit and finish, as well as his methods are some of the best i have seen, and it is worth ever page of the 36 pages of reading. I have read it more than once and still pick up new information from it.
