Every year my wifes family and friends have a white elephant xmas gift exchange. Everyone brings a gift but it seems as though the women do most of the shopping because it's all chick stuff ,year after year.

I want to change that and get a good man gift... a knife. Unfortunately there is a price limit of $25.

Looking for suggestions on decent knife for this price that any average joe would be excited to get?

the going rate for a Boker Subcom F is around 26-28. This is alot of knife in a small package.

get some opinels.

yes I said some. You can get a few for $25 bucks, as they are mostly under 10 dollars.

best cheap knives in the world.

or a Buck 110 or 112.

Check out the Spyderco Bird lineup very reasonable and for the money not a bad knife at all.

I just got a Byrd (Spyderco) Robin on eBay for $20 shipped for my brother for Christmas. I'd reccomend something along the same line ($30 shipped for a G-10 Cara Cara!)

+1 on the Byrd I have a crossbill and it is shockingly good for the price.
Frost Mora in carbon ,stainless or laminite well under 25$
CRKT wrangler
Buck 110 or 119 might have to shop around to get the 119 but worth it.
Cold Steel Tru flight thrower old ones made of exellent carbonV steel in US but the new ones are not bad being 1050 made overseas.
Buck Dou traditional folder you can almost get 2 for 25 and they rule
Cold Steel kukuri machette and magnum machette

Get a SAK. Soldier or Spartan or something in that range. I think it's pretty much a "universal" gift knife. Everyone knows about them and can appreciate their usefulness. Won't upset the sheeple either. My .02

Any Spyderco Byrd model or Kershaw Vapor/Vapor 2/Storm/Storm 2 ? Depends on your lock and blade style preference (hollow vs. flat ground).

Benchmade Benchmite, Kabar Dozier? can't remember the maker on that one, various SAKS

Another vote for anything Spyderco Byrd (if you don't think they'll mind the hole open...some like it, some don't).
Another vote for the Boker Subcom F (one of my favorite knives) and the BM Benchmite (teeny little bugger).
A Kershaw Storm is nice, but may be a bit hard to find it for <$25 shipped.

For a gift to someone who may or may not like knives, get a SAK or a Leatherman micra or squirt. Very cool gifts.

My local Targets have the Leatherman c301 (420, single combo blade, assisted opener, pocket clip) for $18.

I picked one up for the non-knife-knut as a present.

Spyderco lady bug , Opinals , some of the more basic Victorinox SAK's .
