Need help choosing a new folding knife.

Yes, I've looked at it. It looks like an awesome knife. My concern with it is that I haven't been able to handle one, and that I don't know much about its locking device. Its a little more pricey, but I'm sure I can handle the extra $40.
Its getting pretty close to decision time. Gotta order a knife(ives) soon.
Thanx,
Rob

I'm a Tanto blade nut. You should check out the new SOG Vision series with the arc lock system. The Vision has titanium handles. Night Vision has G-10 handles. X-ray Vision has zytel handles. All come with a partially serrated tanto blade. They're cool knives and within your price range.

It's Christmas.. Buy yourself a Sebenza!

Large, small, wood, decorated... either way you will have a Happy New Year.... and many to come...

baraqyal,
I wouldn't want you to commit to an LCC without handling one first, if for no other reason than the steel liners contribute to an overall weight that is a bit more than what is common for a folder of this size. But, if there's any way possible that you can get your hands on one I highly recommend it. The LCC employs a traditional liner lock, but it's a production liner lock executed in a way that only MicroTech can. Solid lock up, absolutely no blade play, and as those heavy duty bronze washers gradually start to wear in, the action just keeps getting smoother and smoother.

I'd get a Benchmade 750 Pinnacle if I were you. Its similar in size and style of the spyderco military and Bm 710. But its got a few features that I think make it a little nicer. It should be a little stronger than the military since its got all ti handles and a fame lock rather than just a liner lock. Although the military is plenty tough from all acounts. And the serrated version of the 750 still has a usable section of plain edge. Its got enough of both to really perform well either way.
As for the 710, the pinnacle is thinner in the handle which makes for nicer carrying and I think that it has better ergonomics. Strength is debateable but there was a thread a long time ago where a guy broke a bunch of high end folders in a vice. The pinnacle with its frame lock survived the testing better than the 710 with its axis lock did. Neither one really failed, but the pinnacle was in a more usable condition.
you really can't go wrong with any of the three though ( 750, 710, or military)
