need help choosing

I just thought I'd post a couple of pics of my EDC setup... oh, wait, wrong thread. ;)

Just kidding. Its too freaking hot down here to wear enough clothes with enough pockets to carry that many.

Here's few pics to help with the size comparison, I'm gonna guess that pretty much everyone is going to be familiar with the size of at least one of these knives. Hope this helps offsetlover.

holy crap the JDY is tiny! wow! i was not expecting that

ok i am now even more sold on the Lahar. the mini mojo is looking better to me along with the baby boa. the Offset dwarfs everything, again lol. the JDY is going to be interesting to hold thats for sure (you've seen me holding the Offset kneedeep, so you know what i mean).

gee decisions. I look at the Lahar and think "show peice that can kick most knives butts" and i look at the baby boa and think "wow, that would be a really pretty show peice and it would be fun to play with". the mini mojo is looking inbetween the two.

the JDY i think may be out of the running, but the JDYII isn't cause its the bigger version.

to much knife confusion plus editing a wedding! brain overload!

Closed the overall size of the JYD II should be about the same as the Lahar.
The JYD II's blade is listed as 3 3/4" vs. the Lahar at 3 1/2".

The Baby Boa is fun to play with, the blade really pops open with a snap. I would've definitely liked to have a black one. I'm trying to imagine you holding the Baby Boa, I expect you would hold it with just your index finger and thumb.

Kneedeep, Nice Random leek and I think the mini mojo is underrated! Maybe with better steel it would get the attention it deserves...

well the baby boa is only as long open as one of my fingers.......

yes he does have a veeerrrry nice line up.

so is the leek your sugestion Jeremy?

That mini mojo is a nice looking knife. I'd definitely like to see it with a better blade steel.

With all this Mojo talk I think I should chime in and say that it has about the best safety of any A/O Kershaw. It is built into the filpper portion of the blade so it can be unlocked and opened in one smooth motion. I too have big paws and in my opinion it is one of the easier to open smallish knives. And I agree with giantsfan that it gets much less love than it deserves.

I couldn't agree more with everything you said (Jeremy too).

The safety on the Mini Mojo/Mojito is one of the best out there. In another thread I compared it to the grip safety on a 1911 (the handgun). If you are using it right it just works, no thinking about it. I'd love to see it on some other knives.

Here are a couple of pictures of the flipper safety on the Mojo for anyone that hasn't gotten a chance to see it.

One of the other great things about the Mini Mojo/Mojito is the studlock. I believe this is the smallest Kershaw to have it. It's a real pleasure to use.

Between the safety and studlock, this is a great knife to open and close one handed.

I haven't had any issues with the current steel, though I do touch it up frequently and keep it oiled, but I am looking forward to the 13C26.
It definitely has a great shape, and I would love to see a larger version of it with all the same features. For the money, a lot goes into that little knife!

ok the day of truth is coming very soon. i will be at the knife shop at about 1:30PM EST tomorow to fondle the knives. im pretty sure im going to get the Lahar, but im still up for convincing on the Mini Mojo, JDY, JDYII, or Baby boa. so start convincing me! lol

i do know that i will be getting the spyderco salt 1 for a friend (his knives keep getting in water and the salt 1 would be ge a good choice for him).
