Need Help Finding a EDC Folder

I stumbled upon a Kershaw Blur a while back and for some reason it keeps finding pocket time. It's very slim, has a long edge for the bladesize (slight recurve) and just feels good in hand.

If I had to recommend an EDC that would be it.

Spyderco Delica 4 FFG VG-10 or Dragonfly 2 VG10 are time tested, and amongst the finest, most common sense sized and real world useful EDC blades ever designed. I have, and use both. The Delica 4 comes closer to your preferred blade length at something like 2 3/4 inches or so. Some people feel the handle on the Delica is too long for the blade length. I tend to agree. My grail edc blade is the D2...2 1/4 inches of ergonomic and cutting brilliance. 1.2 ounces, extremely slim and discreet, with a leaf shaped blade that cuts like a scalpel. Rock solid lockup. Two handed close, yes, but I dont care about that. To me, it is the design paradigm by which all other edc blades are judged, bar none. 50 some odd bucks in Vancouver at Warriors and Wonders. Dont be suckered by the far pricier and much much harder to sharpen ZDP-189 variant. Its 80 bucks, and not worth the price for a knife that size. All hail the Dragonfly 2! :D

If you like Delica, get it. This was my first Spyderco. I bought many more knives after it, but it is still near the top of the list of my favorite urban EDC knives. FFG is fine for a slicer, but saber grind is tougher.

If you want to look at an alternative to a Spyderco, a Benchmade 15030 has a blade just a hair under 3" (2.95" I think), G-10 handle (good for cold environments) or optionally with wood (less threatening looking), axis lock and a thumbhole (good for gloves). Not the slimmest profile you could find but I prefer smaller knives for EDC as well and have no issues with the width. Price is a little north of 100 (US) though.

Benchmade mini griptillian or maybe a 530 pardue.

The 530 is super light with ~3.25" blade

I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend the griptilian also, I know from experience it makes a great work knife, I also work with gloves on. Is it pricey? Maybe. Is it worth it? Definately!

On another note I wouldn't be too worried about blade length in Canada. As long as you're carrying the knife as a tool and not as an offensive/defensive weapon its legal here regardless of the blade length.
