Looking for a new EDC and I'd like it to have the following specs:

-blade lenght 3.5
-aluminum handles (plain, no inserts)
-US made
-Assisted Opening.

Appreciate any info you guys can offer!

I think that a good knife that fits all the criteria would be the kershaw blur. it has an aluminum handle, 3 3/8 inch blade that comes in s30v, CPM154, or 14C28n, made in the US, and is assisted opening. I love mine to death.

I think the Kershaw leek fits the bill, but I'm not sure if it's made in the US. A lot of people really like it, and you can buy them at Walmart if you want it today. I would be buying one right now if I didn't have so many other things higher up on my list.

The Blur has inserts and the Leek isn't aluminum, but both are great choices. The Kershaw RAM is also a good option (not assisted, but it opens quickly and easily. It also has inserts). I think what you want to do if you're really set on those criteria, though, is to wait for the upcoming Kershaw Knockout and Piston. They fit all criteria.

Thank you all for the suggestions.

Tsujigiri - those two Kershaws are almost exactly what I'm looking for, only thing I'm not sure about is the steel. What can you say about it in relation to S30v, D2, 154cm etc?

Check out the Benchmade 940 series. 3.4" blade, anodized aluminum scales, and S30V blade steel. They aren't assisted-opening, but are well-balanced and extremely quick to open. It's one of my absolute favorite knives.

Chris Reeve Large Model 21 Sebenza or a Spyderco Para 2, even though they are titanium and G10 blades and not aluminum.

Not as nice as S30V, definitely, but it performs very well in my experience. Especially considering the price.
