Need help finidng a benchmade...

check out the benchmade 707 Sequel i think that it will fit your bill very nicely it has the Axis lock, looks very similar to a benchmade mini grip it doesnt have the frn handles that you dont like it has aluminum handles with G10 inserts, and has 154cm,tip up carry, is a bit smaller then the full size grip so I think its PERFECT for edc

The full size Bone Collector might be a good bet. Slightly different blade shape, but the Bone Collector handles feel awesome in hand. Probably my favorite handle of all the Benchmades I have owned. Only drawback is weight, its close to 2 full ounces heavier than the 551. Still, your getting very nicely sculpted g10 handles, and D2 steel in your blade for not very much more. I think they can be had for about $80 bucks at the right place on line.

I find the BM 710 to be very comfortable too, but that might be too long (3.99") for what you are looking for.

You could always check out Benchmade's other go to knife the 710, its a larger knife at almost 9" over all but it is one of those bench mark knives that others are compared to. There are better knives out there for sure but there are a lot worse knives to. the 710 does a lot of things right and a few wrong as well but seems to get the over all package right. Blade length is 3.9 not 3.99 BTW

Nr.1 BM is the 610 Rukus. S30V.
Micarta/G10 scales. Large, realy large, 10.12” opened lenght. But discontinued.
