Need help first knife

Next weekend I go to Mr. Bob Werner for 2 days of on hands knife making. Thanks Bwitty!! Thanks to Dakota forge and sorry for not spellin it right you have given me much time and good advice. The file is too hard to drill. I have decided to use it as sort of a rat tail tang it will sit epoxyed in a very unusual wooden handle material and have a Stag crown for a guard. When I'm done I'll send pics in.
Next Questionwhen can I call myself a knife maker? I know I'm a little ahead of myself but this is what I'm going to do. That and be a DAD.I'm lucky I have a wife who supports me totaly well almost she told me to quit buyin knives and start buyin equipment:)

You can call yourself a knife maker right now, you are making a knife so you qualify. The secret handshake comes later --- well there really isn't a secret handshake. You will learn a lot from Bob Warner. He's a good guy and he knows what he is doing.
