Need help. Garberg or alternative?

Where do you buy the Mora Garberg for close to 200CA$ in Canada? That's way overpriced. If you want a ferro rod attachment, you can get the Garberg with multi mount kit instead of the "survival kit" for about 130CA$. They have enough Velcro for you to play with it. Here is what I did to mine with stuff came with the kit the kit. I used the extra velcro to make pen holder and extra security for the knife. The pen can be replaced with the rod and there are more slot that you can put more Velcro around for extra security for it. I believe that the Kansbol has the multi mount option as well. Though, the multi mount set up is a little bulky.

I have a Jaakkari 140 with custom sheath, excellent knife! If you don't stay don't do several days of hiking or larping around, because it needs more maintenance when it rains or you have to cut a lot.

After a lot of thought and review watching/reading, I placed my order for a Jakkarripuukko 110. I think the deciding factor was the sweet leather sheath because otherwise is seems pretty comparable to the Garberg. I love the look of the red handle, but the Garberg multi-mount sheath was over $160 Canadian before tax. Little too expensive I think.

I'm curious, where do you look for knives in Canada, because the prices you give are like 25% mark up compare to most online stores I know of, and I'm from the maple leaf country as well.

Good choice. Although I am a fan of Mora, my enthusiasm does not extend to the Garberg, which costs too much for what you get. The Kansbøl is my preference, but the Jääkkäripuukko cuts better in my experience.

At the local outfitters store it’s 169.99 for the carbon Garberg with the multi mount sheath. Canadian outdoor equipment seems to be the be
cheapest place I can find online. $114 for the stainless Garberg with the regular sheath. Again, once you get into the nicer sheaths the price goes way up. Are you finding them cheaper?

I bought mine with the multi mount from BladesCanada, formerly Warriors and Wonders, many Canadians buy from there, for 130$, though they seem to be out of stock at the moment.

There are a few other stores that you can easy look up just by typing "mora garberg multi mount canada". Many of them have brick and mortar location, so I do trust them. I ordered stuff from random stores located in the middle of nowhere online before.

I have the Garberg in carbon and stainless. They both preform about the same. You can't go wrong with either. If you are on a budget and want a tough Scandi grind blade, buy a Mora Robust ($16.00 US dollars). I have some of those, too, and they are just as tough (maybe even tougher) than the Garberg. It's hard to beat Mora.
