first a little back story. a year ago i managed to break my brothers knife. it was a cheap winchester bowie knife from walmart. i always told him i would replace it but i never had any money too. now i have money and i want to replace it with something special that he can keep for the rest of his life. i want to make him a damascus bowie knife. i'm gonna use a cut out blade from http://www.alabamadamascussteel.com/servlet/Detail?no=17. i want to use mahogany for the handle and i want to maybe make a leather sheath for it as well.. the only problem is i live in an apartment with handtools and NO idea where to start or even where to get an egde on the dang thing. i can see it in my mind and its beautiful and sentimental i just don't know where to start and its driving me nuts. thank you so much for any help you guys could provide. and im sorry for the poor grammar i am recovering from a severe infection near my spine and hopped up on antibiotics and painkillers. once again thank you all so much.
