Need help identifying a Knife.

The previous owner was a WW2 Vet, so it may originate from that, or perhaps it doesn't It has no markings beyond the wear and tare it has taken, which is extensive. It's quite obvious this knife was used as a tool regularly. I was really hoping someone might be able to give me any information on the maker of the knife, or any other added info about the knife. I'm not a collector and don't know any more about knives then what I learned in Boy Scouts, I stumbled across this page when trying to find any related info on the knife.

You have what looks like a WWII theater knife. These would have been amateur made knives that were either made by the troops themselves using machine shop facilities on board ship or on base; or, made by others such as family or volunteers for those fighting the war. A lot of these were made during the war. They were made in an near endless number of forms from just about any available material.
