Hello I ran across a survival multi tool knife i have never seen . .Made by Carl Schlieper in Solingen ,Germany on the blade it also has a half shell ,Not a eye marking. It has a solid fixed blade is 8 3/4" long oal. from finger stop to tip the blade is 4 1/2,it has a folding cork screw ,it has a folding saw very tough, and a folding short blade, a nice bone handle, and a nice sheth marked make in germany. Can anyone tell me the age or if they have seen one before .Ive looked all over the net and didnt find any thing close, exept for a single fixed blade survival knife. thanks Machining

So I take it no one has seen one of these knifes before,It must be pretty rare,I am thinking It might be a survival knife during wwII .It is a awsome knife.

Do an advanced search in this forum (multi-tool) with the word "Chapter" by the username of JOOLIESEWS. He did some multi-tool histories and that might be of some help to you.

Let me know if this helped you out.

Thanks for the info,But it really didnt help. They have been calling it a fan marking which dates it before wwII.There is also a marking on the handle that looks like a lamp with a shade or a arrowhead without the point with a circle around it.The is a 2 blade pocket knife on ebay right know that has the fan marking ,and it is at $160.00 and stlli has 6 1/2 days to go .must be rare huh.

My only guess might be that the stamp you're talking about is a Tula armory stamp, which was a Russian arms manufacturer during WWII. That's all that I can come up with. Google and see if Tula ever made any knives along side the Mosin Nagant.

I will try and take some pics tonite and post them. ,hopefully someone can help once i load some pictures.can anyone tell me the best way to load pictures on here. Thanks for all the imput ,

Hi machining,
The knife you have is indeed relatively rare, although not extremely so. There were quite a few variations made in Solingen, Germany. The city was a whole town of knife companies and cutlery shops, along the same lines as what Sheffield, England used to be. Knives similar to yours were stamped with a variety of maker's names, although they all say Solingen on them.

I thought I recently saw an auction on eBay for a knife similar to the one you are describing, but I can't seem to find it now. I was curious about what the going price is. The closest I could find was this one, which doesn't have the saw and knife blades you are describing, and appears to be of newer vintage.

I had one like that, with saw and folding gutting blade (I think that's what they call it, concave edge and blunt tip), I bought it at a hardware store in Queretaro, Mexico probably around 1975, sorry I don't remember how much I paid for it, I don't have it any more, gave it to a friend years ago.
