Gents,

First time porter with a question. I got this knife some time ago in a horse trade. I know its a Cold Steel Tanto, but much beyond that I'm lost. The pommel and guard are brass and there is a hand etched serial number on the right side. See the pics.

Any help to the age, model, and value of this knife would be truly helpful.

Thanks in advance.

I thought the same thing, but the brass guard and pommel with the etched serial number make me think its older or possibly a pre-production.

Take some pictures outside and email them to Cold Steel. Taking photos inside blues everything up and does not provide good contrast or white balance.

It looks like the regular Cold Steel Tanto from back in the 80's to me. I carried one for a work knife for a few years. Mine doesn't look like that any more, but I think it did once upon a time.

Call cold steel customer support, they will give you a special email address for you to send a pic too. They will tell you what you got. I used them in feb, to see if a used knife I got was real or fake.
Hope it helps.
Oh it was real!
