Hello, as the title states, I'm looking for some material that will give you a good grip in wet conditions. I have an axe ,approx 8" handle length, I need to rehandle. I thought of some canvas micarta but i dont think that it will be coarse enough. Any help in finding a supply source for some very grippy ( neoprene perhaps?) material, for a axe handle that will endure lots of use in all conditions, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mark

I have heard of some using horse stall mats.

I would just slap some baseball bat grip tape on it over the current grip unless you have to rehandle it anyway. I really like the pistol A-grips too but I don't know if they'd hold up under that much force. I have some on my 9 and 40 grips that are still holding after close to 10k shots each though. They feel good dry and fantastic wet and only about $20 for a non-precut sheet. I want to try it out on a few of my G10 choppers but just haven't gotten around to it yet

plastisol is a good rubber tool grip material, I have seen it sold at home depot, I think, it goes on as a liquid and then you bake it at 350 degree's, which should be low enough not to mess with the temper I think,
