A good way to make a spear from a bayonet is to take a steel rod and slide the bayonet down about a quarter of an inch and weld it on. I did this with a broken music stand and an akm bayonet, and it works pretty well.

That would depend on the sks bayonet model. I have a Yugo that uses a spring loaded handle to actuate or fold it away. Gut that handle of its spring and locking lug and something can be inserted onto the handle. It's probably 1/2" in diameter so using a shovel handle is a bit out of perspective.
