Need Help! Need Skeletonized Fixed Blade Knife Ready for A Deployment!

very good idea Ron. but I'm afraid of being turned down for it since i do not have a direct need. I am in aviation so they will probably just laugh lol!

If you don't have a direct need, you probably won't need or use whatever you take. Get a good multitool or SAK instead.

i have experience owning and using the Nimravus and it is a good knife as the geometry is great. but then I much prefer small knives like Izula, as it is very light abd versatile. carbon steels also performs great and sharpen easily.

id prefer it to be skeletonized due to size and weight constraints, i use my folder every day and every day i wish i had it in a fixed blade. im not a big fan of bulky pocket knives. and trust me. the work i will be doing you will be lost without a good blade on hand, iv always felt safer with fixed blades too lol

USN:
Where are you deploying to?
Also if you can send me proof of active duty (sorry been scammed before) I'll send you my BK11 with scales, I only carried it a few times so it's in top shape.

That's awesome! I was wondering when someone was going to make an offer. I have nothing that would help you otherwise it would have been me.

Good on ya Hobby ;)

Thank you for your service. Stay safe.

Sounds like your primary desire is for an easy to carry, and conceal, self-defense knife that is rarely used yet affordable.

Have you seen the CRKT STIFF KISS? No, that was not a W&C joke. :)

thank you J_Curd, honestly i cant see myself needing a knife for self-defense but if the situation arises it is better to have it on hand then back home in the dresser.

theHobbyiest: i could not possibly accept an offer like that but thank you! i will be going to Bahrain, whether Manama or Esa i have not been told, itll be my first deployment so i have high hopes! excited for the transition to P-8 Poseidon's when we return though!

I had already tried, the guy just won't take hand outs, wherever he's going they're getting one hell of a sailor!

It seems he scrapyard scrapivore fits the criteria. Check it out, a hell of a knife with a prybar.

I lost a few good friends in the sand bowl, anything I can do to help, from sending a knife to buying a beer... It's always my pleasure.

No worries, my offer stands until you ship out (international shipping can be a <expletive>)

Be safe out there!

If you want a skeleton=handled fixed blade for utility, I would take a hard look at Perrin knives. I know Knifeworks.com carries them, thought other dealer sponsors probably do, too. Also, the Ruana Americana Smokejumper looks like a great fit for what you want and comes with a versatile kydex sheath.

On my last deployment I carried a Spyderco Tasman Salt clipped to my PT belt so even when I was without a sidearm I had something that would be effective for defense. The blade is also completely rust proof and the overall size is very handy and easy to conceal (even in gym shorts). At just over $60 for the Tasman Salt and just under eighty for the Ruana, you could have everything in hand for under $150 shipped.

just as i thought they told me no... they said "we are having a hard enough time getting uniforms let alone getting you a silly knife." which is crap... but now im tempted with the Kabar 1117... i like it. still like the 375 better but... its a close comparison,
Look for the 375 where you can afford it. It will be worth it.

thank you for all the help guys ya'll have been great! Ill probably bite the bullet and go with my original desire, I was able to find it for $103 thanks to you guys! if not that the the Kabar 1117 :D great Forums you guys have here!
