need help on selling a handgun

Many dealers decided it would be good practice to also continue with the NICS background checks (to cover their butts understanably).
The NICS check, when purchasing from an FFL holder, was part of the permenant Brady law.
 
Good choice, keeping it. Think of it this way, if there ever is a SHTF situation, having a handgun chambered for BOTH of the most popular NATO calibers means you'll be much more likely to get ammo for at least one of them.

Besides, it probably makes a nice back up weapon to the 1911.
 
A gun like that is worth a lot more to you than what you could sell it to a retailer for.

11 yrs ago, when I was short on cash, I sold my Taurus PT-99 (nickel) and Ruger Redhawk .44 mag (SS) to a dealer. I won't tell you what I got for them. :(
