I was wondering what kind of wheel i should use to sharpen knives on my bench grinder. The machine runs at 3600 rpm.

Look ant Jantz Supply or Texas knifemakers supply Both of them offer a set of cardboard wheels you can sharpen with. Do not use stones they are to corse and will over heat your blades.

dont get the ones from jantz supply. i have a set and the results arent the same. stevebot, a member here sells the wheels at a discount to members here on bladeforums. also the wheels they sell are 3/4" wide if i'm not mistaken. steve's are 1" wide. i have links at my website to stevebot.

What about a 320 grit aluminum oxide wheel?Has anyone tried one?Abench stone will be too difficult i think since i want to sharpen one inch, curved blades.

a grinding wheel will ruin a knife. if you want to use your grinder get a set of wheels. i have been sharpening knives with a set for the past 16 years. i have been sharpening knives for over half my life.
