Hey guys,

I've been into knives for several years and have a pretty nice collection.

I am also a Long Distance Motorcycle rider and have been involved in that community for 10 years. Two of my friends have set world records and I want to get them nice knives with their records custom engraved.

The problem is I have never thought about this or researched it for a moment, in spite of my interest in knives for several years.

My best thought is to get ZT 801s from Kershaw Guy for $139, but I don't have a clue about how best to get the custom engraving.

If you have any experience, knowledge or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. I'm in SoCal and have access to LA/Orange County/San Diego and the Inland Empire. I need it all done by September 29th.

Many thanks!

You could also post this on the services wanted forum in the knife maker section, you might get some more feedback.

I do custom engraving in Ti and other handle materials. Pm me some details and I'll see if I can help : )

Engraver David Sheehan is in Santa barabara Cali. He did some jewelery for my wife and a lot of knives. Id use him. Last I checked he has a maker membership here. I am planning on sending my edc to him some day. Soon as I can handle being without it.
He does the most amazing hand engraving under a microscope. Its top of the line.

The ZT 801 is a cool knife, but its factory fluting takes a lot of space where custom engraving could go on the presentation side handle. I might recommend something with a blank handle to maximize room for a design. I make blank Ti handles for ZT 0562 and Kershaw Link that are nice and open for the exact purpose of high detail engraving. Maybe a pic of the bike and text of the record would look really cool on there. Just throwing options out there.....

I haven't shown a whole lot of my engraving / carving on this forum yet. Figured I could show a few examples of the kind of engraving I do, never hurts to have pics : )
Metal carving/engraving is what I mainly do (Ti, stainless, alum, etc.).
