Need help to detrmine blade stee, carbon or stainless on a knife I bought?

^^ Ditto - cut up some fruit - if it turns color(s) and starts to form a patina, then it's not stainless, it's high carbon. No discoloration, then it's some form of stainless.

Btw, I never buy knives (or anything, for that mater) off Fleabay. YMMV...

A Google search for "Weidmannsheil knives" will yield a lot of info. I saw a few knives that are identical to the one you pictured (minus the corkscrew) and they were described as either "stainless", or "rostfrei" (stainless in German).

I'd wager the knife you pictured is stainless, but the test suggested by the others should prove it.

And here's a thread discussing Weidmannsheil knives if you're interested. There might be more if you do a forum search. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/411075-Weidmannsheil-knves
