Need Help w/Gerber Paul Knife

Hello everyone, does anyone out there happen to know how to disassembled a Gerber Paul knife. I need to remove the lock on it to resurface the handle and was wondering if there was a way to tighten up the blade a bit. There is some up and down play to it and the knife doesn't lock up squared.

Is this something that I would be better of sending to Gerber?

There is a small hole in the outside collar of the lock on the side that has the patent number on it. Insert something sharp (but not too sharp; try a 000 Phillips screwdriver) into the hole, and turn the collar with the tool. Clockwise to tighten.

Good luck on removing the scales. They look glued on to me. Walt
