So I was looking around for a multi tool and something that caught my eye was a leatherman sidekick and wanted to get yiur thoughts on it

My thoughts would be to avoid it. While it is a decent multitool for the price there are much better options for just a bit more money. The Sidekick is a "beginners" multitool in my opinion. Something you see with Leathermans name on it and for a reasonable price so first time multitool buyers buy it. While you might be in that boat right now you have the foresight to pick something much better. The only thing it has going for it is the spring assisted pliers, but that's about it. The main blade is decent and on the Sidekick model comes in plain edge which is a plus in my opinion. The saw works, but is short. The Philips and flathead are decent, but the other inside tools are not recommended. They also rust fairly easily, but Leatherman's tend to be less rust resistant than the other big name brand competitors. If you wan't my opinion I would look into the Leatherman Rebar first and foremost and let me know what you think. See if it is what you are looking for or if there is anything you do not like about it. Go to YouTube and watch either Nutnfancy's or The Late Boy Scout's review on the Rebar. I will provide a link to possible the best deal I have seen on the Rebar. It comes with a Micra as well which is a great key chain tool in its own right. Free shipping from the link provided.

I forgot to add the pocket clip sucks on the Sidekick. The wire cutters are also "anvil style" which crush the wire instead of cut them.

It doesnt have to be leatherman and I like rebar alot from what i can see expect one thing, I really want an exterior blade, I mean it doesnt make or break it because ill be carrying it with the spyderco, when ive decided and are ordering tomorrow probably, but I would extremely prefer something with at exterior tools

I acutally just found a multi tool that has an interior blade that I really like and wanted to see what you think, the leatherman super tool 300

The Rebar is just a shrunk down Supertool 300. The Supertool 300 is quite a large tool. They both have the exact same tool load out with the exception of one extra Flathead on the Supertool 300. The Supertool 300 would be very large to carry on your belt. I keep a Supertool 300 in my car, but would not carry one on my belt. I'n a bag or backpack would be good though. If your going to go that big I would suggest other tools to look at though. In the Leatherman class I would look at the Surge, or Wave. The Surge is also very large and the Wave is medium size. Both the Surge and Wave have one hand opening blades on the outside. If your looking to spend a little bit more on the multitool I would look into Victorinox's multitools. The quality is far superior than any other multitool in my opinion. In the Victorinox realm of things look at the Spirit (there are a few different models) and the Swisstool (also a few models of this one).

Oh and I kept looking around just now and another question, spyderco delica 4 vs spyderco tenacious

I would pick the Delica 4 over the Tenacious for a few reasons. The Delica 4 is lighter which I like and has FRN handles. The blade steel is superior on the Delica as well. Its sporting VG-10 blade steel. The Tenacious is sporting 8CR13MOV which is decent blade steel, but the VG-10 is better. The Tenacious is "wider" so when I reach in my pocket it rubs on the side of my hand where as the Delica is "slimmer." The Delica 4 also readily comes in a few different colors you can choose from. The Delica uses a lockback design for the lock and the Tenacious uses a liner lock. I prefer the lockback.

PS: Forgot to add, The Delica is made in Japan and the Tenacious is a Chinese produced knife. In the Spyderco realm of things there Japanese produced knives are normally better quality than there Chinese produced knives. Basically what i'm saying is the Delica 4 is a superior knife to the Tenacious.

So I looked at the swisstool and beem looking at that and one thing? Does it have a diamond file? Because I wanted to know if I would have to buy a sharpening system. For me right now multi tool wise it is between the wave and swisstool rs

Because I chaned my mind and are going with the delica even though its a little more I think it would be better for me

No the Swisstool does not have a diamond file. Actually the Swisstool RS does not have a file at all with that model. The Wave DOES have a diamond file. The Wave is a excellent choice and Leatherman offers a bit extender and bit kit (separately) if you want more capability out of your drivers. I would get the Wave with the Nylon sheath if you have the choice. The Delica 4 is also a excellent choice. If you get the Delica 4 and Wave you should be very happy.

Thank you very much and do you think i should get like a sharpmaker or another brand if know of one down the road or if I enough money?

The Spyderco Sharpmaker is a great sharping setup, but can be a little pricey if your running low on cash from your purchases. You can look at Lansky products for sharpening. I have a Lansky, but quit using it as I was not getting good results. I'm not very versed in the sharpeners like I am in the multitools and knives so you might want to start a new thread asking about sharpening options so someone more knowledgeable can help you with that. I'm glad I could help with everything else though. ;)

Okay thank you, i know how to diamond sharpen a little since I chop and sell fire wood during the winter but thank you very much!

I just looked at the wave again and its the wave and the new wave, difference??

There was a original version of the Wave but they have not been in production for some time now. There is only one model of the wave they currently produce. Do you have some links so I can have a look?
