I just ordered a grinder from Coote. Now I need some help from the experts here. What kind of belts do I need? Zirconia, ceramic, AO? What grit selection would you suggest?

Thanks guys

I use Klingspor Zirconia X weight for 50 and 80, then Kligspor AO X weight for 220 and 400, then silicon carbide cork at 400 and 600. That's what works for me...

I think that all depends on what kind of finish you're going for. The only belts I use are Norton Norzon 40 grit belts in 2x72 since i leave the grind lines on the bevels of my knives. Works for any and all applications i need !

I only use the silicon carbide cork for doing the high grits before moving to hand sanding, but yes, tool / carbon steel will eat them up for trying any serious stock removal.

I use norton ceramic (not the blaze yet, that is in the next purchase) 50 and 80 grit, and trizact a65, a45, a30 CF's. I do want to try the regular trizacts up to a6, and a fine non woven belt.
