Im a newbie and I've made 2 knives so far. I'm happy with the scales and woodwork but I'm having a devil of a time finishing my blades. Getting the profile ground and shaped is not a problem but finishing the blade is. I've been putting the bevel on with a 1x30" belt grinder which has worked decent but my problem is getting a consistent satin finish on my blades after beveling. I'm using various grits of wet sandpaper wrapped around square hardwood blocks and it's a frustrating task. I've watched various videos that make it look so easy but in the end I've relegated the knives to utility duty even though I'm happy with the scales and rest of the knife.
Any tips?
