This is my first post on this forum but I've been reading a good bit here lately. Until 2 weeks ago I never owned an Emerson, now I own two. Thanks to many of your collective ideas I am patiently awaiting delivery of a SARK/P-SARK conversion from Bill Siegle. I saw it here and had to have one. Just the thoughts of holding that bad boy makes the blood pound in my ears and makes my.... Uhhh sorry.
Further reading on this forum led me to the Rhino-type regrind that Bill does on the Commander. Another wood raiser. So, I got a Commander from Larry at BladeArt (Super guy to deal with BTW) with plans of sending it on to Bill for a conversion. It was delivered to my house on Tuesday. Now for my QC Issues.
This Knife is Quiet and Comfortable. When I open it it goes kinda Woosh-Tick. At first I thought it wasn't locking open, but it does and it's solid as a rock. The liner lock engages exactly where it should without that loud snapping sound that I'm so used to. Hmmmm, wonder how EK does that. The knife is a joy to hold. Everything is smoothed and beveled and kinda silky feeling. I don't want to put the darned thing down.
Now how can I send this knife off for modification when it seems kinda perfect like it is? I always believed if it ain't broke you don't fix it. I know what you're gonna say, "Buy another one". Yeah, but what do I do if that one is as good as this one. What do I do then?? I need a little help here.
BTW, I keep seeing "Usual Suspects" What are you guys suspected of doing? Doesn't matter. If you need a place to hide or hole up for a while you can stay at my place. Triple layer security and the wife is a GREAT cook.
