Need help with identifying knife

Hello everyone, I am new here and need help with identifying a knife that I have had for years. Through my own research I have found that the knife is possibly WWI era, and has a D guard. The blade is bowie style, I believe. It did not come with any sort of sheath and lacks any sort of blade stamp or maker's mark. Please see the attached photos. Any information on its age, maker, or origin would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

IMHO it's a Mexican D-guard "bowie"; I suspect circa 1950's
