Due to being grind-happy, I messed up my last project beyond recognition or repair. So now I'm ready to start on a new project for the weekend. I posted my last idea in a thread, but it was suggested that I ask for help before I start another project. So, here's my current design.

Thoughts?

I plan on using stainless steel pins and some black micarta. This is a fixed blade.

What are you using it for?

If its a conceal carry type knife it looks ok, i'd make the handle a bit longer for my hands

Seems a little bit on the short side, like the design though!

I'm making it out of my last scrap of 440c. I'm not really using it for anything except practice. I'd like it to be able to use it, though. It's really only meant to be maybe a two or three finger knife. I was told when I started making knives to "start small" so I usually do things pretty tiny.

Make a paper or cardboard cut out of the blade and handle at the pivot point and make sure it works right

I would eliminate the rear drop on the handle for the most part. Due to the size a more even thickness handle may be more comfortable. If you take the two lower bumps of the handle and just make a small choil at the base of the blade, it will make the grip more usable. Your proportions look fine, but at that small size proper proportions will likely make the grip awkward and uncomfortable.

One of the things that allow me to visualize designs better was a cleaner drawing. Though I'm ok drawing freehand, a set of french curves always comes in handy to clean up the lines. Once you have a solid and clean sketch, its easier to make your templates.

Ahh gotcha...if you are going to stay that small, make a more protective finger choil near your blade and staighten out your backhalf.

Personally on a knife that size I would still get rid of the front part of the handle and just deepen the finger choil. But that's just me. You are heading in the right direction.
