Need Help With My Polymer Sheath!

Hey everyone! I have a 5.11 boot knife that I absolutely LOVE, but can't use. I've been through two sheaths for it (from 5.11) and they both quickly loosened to the point where the knife shakes loose. I could order a new sheath from 5.11, but I can't trust it not to fall out. I like to carry this knife on my ankle, belt, and neck. I need help with figuring out a way to keep it secure while wearing these ways. Here is what I have done so far...

Here are my parts:

I took these parts:

Then I took a velcro cable tie:

And used it to secure the knife:

The only problem is there is no way to keep the velcro from slipping:

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can better secure my knife in its sheath with keeping costs down and not having to order a whole new sheath? Any information will be much appreciated!

Thank You!

I would line the inside of the sheath with either very thin leather or possibly some black duct tape. that should help. You may also be able to heat the sheath up with a hair dryer and press it with the knife inside and get an even more secure fit. Make sure you tape the blade up at least two times before pressing it to allow for some wiggle room. The sheathes for knives with large finger holes like yours really need to have the sheath material come up to cover at least part of the hole. I've seen it done that way with some of the Spyderco Swick sheathes.
Another option is to get a scrap piece of kydex and attach it to one side of the sheath so it can be bent into the hole to grab the edge, like a retainer piece.

Run a piece of paracord through those bottom two holes, and use that to secure the velcro in place. That's the easiest fix I see for your setup.
