Need help with my Southard Flipper!

If Spyderco doesn't get back to you. Im sure they well. But if some reason they don't/cant supply the Stop pin. Shoot me an email and I'll get ya one. Or make it.

I just bragged to my girlfriend that Brad Southard himself posted on my thread...lol. You're awesome, man. But anyways, They never replied from the last email I sent on the 2nd.

Resurrecting an old thread here. I got my my Southard and like most of my knives I took it apart, but I had an extra part  . It looks like what I can only describe as a little plug? It doesn't seem to affect the function of the knife, I can't seem to find where it would go where it wouldn't just fall out. IT would have to go on the non frame lock side, I just don't see or know where it could go. Ive never had a problem putting a knife back together before. Any help would be appreciated!!

I had this happen once. Turned out the be the little plug from the applicator of my lubricating oil. Felt like an idiot, but no extra knife parts.

It goes on the back of the G10 scale.

Yes that is what I am talking about, and what I think mr_anderson is describing.

The little assembly nubbin for the G10 to Ti slab alignment?

You can put it back in if you'd like, but I'm sure it's only there to speed up assembly at the factory. It's not an essential part. FYI the domino has two of them.

To answer the OP's question from 6 months ago for those who may need to know, the stop pin on the southard is 9.4mm long by 3.5mm in diameter by my calipers.

For a small company that sells many many knives, it would be tasking to constantly send out parts because of those who lose things while cleaning their knife. I don't know why they'd be less than friendly, but the policy does make some sense. I think they should perhaps do like flashlight manufacturers do and supply replacement parts with the knives. At least screws.

a bit off topic but I bought a southard today and this thread is adding to my excitement.

btw is there any info on the rockwell hardness on the southard's blade?

Quoting here. "Unlisted, likely HRc 62 +/- 1"
