Need help with spring temps

Would like some help with oven time and temps for slipjoint springs.

What kind of steel are you going to be using for the slip joint springs?

If you are using simple high carbon, 650° is a good range, give or take a tad. I temper mine in lead at about that temp.

I am using 01 at 700 F for 30 minutes. Turned the spring a dark grey.
