The knife in question would be a four inch folder with a thin blade and bevels and used in a humid enviroment used for general utility.

i'd go with 440c in humid areas it's a nice steel and great corrosion resistance

i have now 4 talonite knives and an another on the way. i love this stuff. i personally would choose talonite all over other steels... of course damascus for the looking.

uhm......
440c???
I was thinking more like cpm 420v...I have thought about talonite but I'm heard it rolls too much...

I'd go with BG-42. It has a fine grain structure and takes and holds an exceptionally sharp edge. It can be hardened to RC60 which will hold a thin edge. I like it better than 440V. The primary drawback I know is that it doesn't finish as smooth as ATS-34. For a working stainless blade it is great.
