I have many unforeseen medical bills and need to sell a few of my knives. I have not been active for nearly a year and don't know the current values. I was hoping one of the members here would allow me to send them the pictures via email and they could suggest a fair asking price.

the knives are:

NMFBM Black/Black micarta

NMSFNO Black/ Black micarta (hand shaped)

MO FBM (military over run)

HR Black/Black (original run)

HR Sage/Black (not an original run)

Jack Hammer Comp finish

BA TAC Desert Sage/ Black

All these knives have standard handles and are mint condition. Anyone willing to double check my listings (Like I said been out of the game awhile) and suggest a fair asking price would be appreciated .

Thanks,

Bk

Howdy...
The company store still has the nmsfno's as follows,
NMSFNO - Black with black machined micarta. $327.00
Dont know how much extra the hand shaped option was.

Im GUESSING around 550-650 for the nmfbm
MO FBM,dunno... prolly around 500-600
Please look through the exchange and see
what prices have been going for in the past.

Sorry for your health concerns and hope you get better soon.

(Im near wicker park area,North/Ashland,you close?)

Prices are down as of late, here what I think:

NMFBM Black/Black micarta -550 to 600

NMSFNO Black/ Black micarta (hand shaped)-300 to 350

MO FBM (military over run)-550 to 625

HR Black/Black (original run)-320-365

HR Sage/Black (not an original run)-300- 340

Jack Hammer Comp finish 300-320

BA TAC Desert Sage/ Black 300-375

Hopes this helps. I say list em high and ask for offers after a couple of days and see what you can work out.

Sorry to hear about the medical bills, this is still a sore subject for me. Many years ago after going round and round with insurance companies (which costs a boat load by itself) I had to shell out thousands in hospital bills.

It's absolutely ridiculous we have to pay to keep ourselves alive.

Best of luck with the sales!

I guess your pricing would depend somewhat on how quick you need the money. Things seem to take a while to sell now a days, unless it is something rare or priced low. Hopefully you don't need it right now and can wait a few days to weeks, to find the right buyer.

To me it seems that there are a whole lot of knives for sale currently. I would say the supply is higher than the demand right now...Does anyone else see this, or does the exchange seem normal as far as supply and demand? I may have a skewed view, because I have been thinking of selling some of mine for a few weeks now.

PS- Best of luck and well wishes to you.

From my own perspective, I think that even people who are not actually experiencing economic difficulties are worried that they could be laid off, so they're trying to pay down debts and/or build up savings. This has caused a decline in demand for all luxury items, although I'm not seeing many people selling Busse's below release prices. It's just that most selling prices are closer to release prices than was the case previously, so if you bought at a secondary markup price, you may end up taking a loss.

Good luck with your medical issues. Things will work out for you in the end. Just keep at it. I'm sure your nmfbm and some other knives will sell soon. If I hadn't just bought an nmfbm, I'd have been all over yours.

Sad to hear that you have to sell such great knives.

And yes, the supply of knives (Busses not excluded) is increasing definitely while the demand is going down and down. I see it in Europe as well although Busses are still doing relatively OK. It could be the right time to hit bargains on the secondhand market, but I am a bit nervous too under these severe economical circumstances, and I'm not comfortable with buying knives from someone who has built up his/her collection with dedication over many years.
