Hey Everybody,

Okay, so I just finished putting a set of stabilized maple scales on a folder, and finished them with Danish Oil followed by paste wax. The bolsters need a final polish, and I tried doing it carefully with Flitz paste, but I can't keep it off the scales at the ends, not to mention that I'm getting it on my hands, and, therefore, all over the knife. I'm really no into that, especially with all the work I just put into those scales. So, I have carefully cleaned it off, and I need some advice.

I don't know about putting masking tape on the scales and getting tape gunk all over them. Not sure what to do. Thanks in advance.

i use masking tape. it works with the buffing wheel so it will work with hand rubbing. maybe put a little fresh wax under where the tape will go if you are worried about tape goo.
