New here need some help.
Looking for a hunting knife that will be a great tool for field dressing deer.

Oh man. Any idea of how much you want to spend?

Scott also known as Razorback here on the forums makes some great skinning knives. Gene Ingram makes some super knives as well as Bob Dozier. All these guys can easily be found on a google search.

But if production is what you want look at some of the Bark River and/or Ranger and Fallkniven knives. They all seem to have great reps.

Also, the Cold Steel master hunter has been talked highly of from several devoted hunters.

My favorites (from knives I've used):
Spyderco Moran
Buck Vanguard
Cold Steel Master Hunter (Carbon V version)
BRKT Woodland

My go-to deer knife is a Buck Vanguard made in ATS-34. Good rubber grip, solid blade guard, excellent cutting steel. Buck made these ATS-34 versions for Bass Pro for a while. Actually, I have the Zipper ATS-34 version for sale over in the Exchange forum if you're looking for a knife with a guthook.
