Need Help.

I'm partly taking everyone's advice. Tomorrow I will be ordering an Izula, an RC3 and a RC5. You have no idea how excited I am!!
 
For sure you'll need an Izula and ESEE-4. I EDC both (former in a hip pouch, latter in a daypack). What you need to round out is up to you - in the city, I round it out by carrying a Spydie Millie folder (or Benchmade Griptilian folder or both) in my pocket (can't wait for the folding Izula).

I also have a -5, but its my emergency GOOD (Get out of Dodge) knife and stays in my GOOD bag.

I got the -4 because I found the -3 was too small (I have the old Ontario RAT-3, which I also find has a handle which is too short).

In the bush, I tend to round out the Izula and -4 with a hatchet, but I am considering a machete as a lighter replacement (still undecided).

Awesome info man thanks. Actually has me considering the RC4 again instead of the 3, but so many people have told me to go with the 3 and get the 5.

If you get the 5, 3 mil and scales for the izula you would have the same canvas micarta for all three blades. I have the izula with scales for EDC and the 5 for everything else. Also have another izula and scales on the way, they are fun to wrap and I did quite a few but IMHO the scales are the best for me. :D

Where do you get the scales for the Izula? I have looked everywhere though maybe I'm just over looking it.
 
That's a tough one.

If you for sure want a 4 (great knife BTW) I'd get an Izula or a 3 along with a 6.

Nope not crazy. I can seem to find them anywhere. I've been to Two Wolves and the knife connection as well all sold out. I did get them from knives ship free and it took a week from time of order till I was installing them. Keep looking, I know I will be.

If I was going with 3, It'd probably be esee3, esee6, and a lite machete. I'm liking the OD/canvas setup. Very slick. Would like to wiggle up a set of izula/3/4/5 like that... but I need to stop buying knives...
 
I'd go with an Izula/ESEE-4 combo, myself.

Of course, that Junglas is looking mighty good lately... ;)
 
izula of course, esee 6 and a hest. i carry the izula and hest everyday. the izula in back pocket, the hest in bag. grab the 6 when heading into the woods. everythings covered.
