need: inexpensive, ultralight, non-serrated, thin-handled EDC folder w/ clip

Go with the Sog flash 1 or 2, they are really ultralight with no steal liners.
They have a great clip too!

you can get plain edge

The Benchmade 530 is a really really nice ultralight thin folder. It is only 1.2oz which is lighter than the lightest Spydie (Salt 1, 1.5oz) and really sweet. My dad loves his.

The new Kabar Doziers are awesome, 3" blade, AUS-8, really thin and light. Only about 25.00 shipped. I liked the 1 I picked up so much, I got a spare. One of each kind of opener. :D

+2-they're one heck of a knife for that price

Just to update, I picked up the Kershaw Skyliner today and absolutely love it. It weighs exactly half as much as my current carrying knife even though the blade itself is longer. The handle is a bit thicker than my Native (depth-wise), but it's not really fair for me to compare a full stainless handle to one with G10 scales anyway. Plus, it makes up for it by being narrower width-wise. I was a bit wary of talk that the finish might be rust-prone but I have a similar bead-blasted finish on a Gerber Gator II that hasn't given me problems; I figured I would take my chances on the Skyline since it was only $30. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks again for all the good recommendations, I'll probably look into them further and pick up another knife or two when tax returns come in.

Since they haven't been mentioned,I'd just like to throw it in there...you may want to check out Al Mar's Ultralight series. The price is a little higher than you stated, but they are by far the lightest, full sized folders I've personally handled.

I had a Beretta ultra-light which sounds like it might be what you are looking for. I believe it cost under thirty dollars when I bought it. However, I am not an expert as many people here are, so maybe you could do better. It worked well for me, though.

I have the Falcon Talon Ultralight. Great knife. Wear it clipped IWB with my suit every day and I hardly notice it's there. AUS8 steel, takes a very sharp edge, lockback, thumbstud opening. Prices have come down I think, under $100.

Yup - You can even find the Eagle Ultralight Talon for under $100. One of the two (eagle or falcon) is on my list. I just haven't decided yet.

I Read your post again PV29, and that makes perfect sense - Falcon IWB. I think that's the route I'll go. Thanks man!

Buck's Bucklite Max series seems to be just released. Inexpensive lockbacks with pocketclip and one hand opening.

1. Spyderco Native
2. Cold Steel Medium Voyager PE
3. CRKT M21-02

The best knife is number 1. The sexiest knife is number 2, and the classiest knife is number 3.

Well, the OP ended up getting a knife & seems happy with it. However, there were some great suggestions, especially if the price point was/is lifted.

I have a BM 530, which I believe is spec'd at 1.88 oz. & I thought is was great for its size, however, I may have to check out that Al Mar Ultralight. I knew it was light, but didn't know it was that big, wow. I've had one of those Ka-Bars & they were not a bad knife for the $ at all.

I've been carring the Ken Onion Leek for about 4 years now, I wish it had a better closed lock but other than that I like it.
