need info. on GPS for hiking

I agree with staying with garmin, any newer unit will keep satellites under tree cover now. Just make sure its a HCX if its a older Etrex or the new Etrex 10,20, or 30. The 60csx was the standard go to unit, but now is pretty much close to being discontinued Im sure as the 62 is the replacement for them. But if you found one for under $200 would still be a good unit for what you are wanting. The Oregon and Dakotas are also good units. So Basically any of these I mentioned if you find functioning and cheap you would be good to go. Just a matter of what you want to spend and what other features your looking for. All these will be able to keep tracks, place waypoints(mark a spot you want to remember) etc.
