Hello- My son wants to learn how to make knives. I've been trying to find a kit with a finished blade, handle materials that he needs to shape into a finished piece, and maybe some leather supplies to make a matching sheath. I can always buy the leather supplies separately if need be. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I second Jantz Supply and also Texas Knifemakers Supply. I have dealt with both with very good results. Texas Knifemakers supply also sells leather sheaths, and leather shoulder and snap kits for sheaths.

Also, try contacting knifemakers to see if they will sell you one of their blades as a kit option. Its less than their finished work and you get something a bit more special than a regular kit from a supply company.

Welcome to the forums and what a great idea. I don't think they have a website, but Koval Knives used to have some very nice unfinished blades. Also, K&G Finishing Supplies www.knifeandgun.com.
