Need Nordic/Scandinavian Knife forum

I've noticed that there are a lot of posts in various forums (many posts hard to find) about Nordic knives: Finnish, Swedish, etc. What about adding a separate forum for Nordic knives?

I think all the Mora and Phukko love is spread by the Wilderness and Survival Skills sub-forum.

I agree. IMO it muddy's up the wilderness forum too much. Anyway, I'd like to have a place to find all the info on Moras and Phukkos....but that's just the tip of the iceberg. Helle, Hultafors, Sandvik, Fallkniven, Brusletto, Iisakki, and even Rapala are a few of the other Scandinavian brands. I think it would get plenty of traffic. Not only that but there are a lot of people who almost exclusively collect Scandinavian knives. I'd like to see it happen.

longtime lurker here: but have to agree - there needs to be a separate forum for Nordic knives - they're quite popular it seems? (love Mora knives - have a milsurplus, topq, & bushcraft force, a super deal at a sub-$30 knife)

Yes, yes, yes! As a HUGE enthusiast of Scandinavian knives I also think a Nordic Knives Forum would be a fantastic addition to BF and THE ideal place to talk about Puukkos, Leukus, Moras, Tolleknivs and all sorts of Scandi goodness!

I think that should be discussed in traditional folders and fixed blades. Split off too much specific stuff into sub forums, and all you'll hear there is crickets.

I'm lobbying for a separate forum for Nordic/Scandinavian knives; puukko, etc. anything from Finland, Norway, Sweden (Moras), etc. I'm one of the guys who collect Nordic knives. I've checked by searching for puukko and Ahti and Mora, etc and the posts are scattered all over various other forums. Would appreciate any help in getting a Scandi forum on this message board, so I can find related posts easily without having to scrounge around the entire message board. Thanks in advance for any support.

I am also in favour of this request. A Nordic Knives Forum would indeed be a benefit for Scandinavian knife enthusiasts. :thumbup:

Though there's certainly no obligation to do so (and Spark would never ask) I think it would be nice (in general) if folks who lobby for sub-forums of their choice would also consider supporting the site by considering a Gold or Platinum membership.

(Offered strictly as food for thought and not as a condition for consideration. Personally, I have no issue with a new sub-forum nor do I have a problem with it staying as is. Ultimately, Spark will decide if the topic warrants a sub-forum of its own.)
